The Death God

With curious intention.

Seeking communion of the otherworld.

Brought to this dark space.

This dark cavern.

Greeted by an innocent presence.

The spirit of a girl child.

Playful and whimsical with her audience.

Receiving love and adoration from the people.

I felt an innocent presence.

Shy and lurking from afar.

The head of a boy child.

The sibling.

Appearing from dense smoke.

Vulnerable and sad.

This poor child victim to death.

Fearful of the unknown.

Querying for encouragement.

Seeking praise to come out.

I welcome you with nurturing promise.

Sharing with you, my love.

My praise.

My protection.

My devotion to care for you.

The people sang your name.

Praising your name in unison.

Boy child winning their love.

Their praise.

Their protection.

Their devotion to care for you.

However

As you grew.

Too large for the otherworld.

Too large for the cavern.

Too large for the cloak of smoke.

Large and foul.

You Trickster.

You Monstrosity.

Deceitful for praise.

Prayers of adoration.

Received by your deception.

Becoming a skeletal being.

Made of melting flesh.

Dripping with rot.

Eyes of Peridot.

The grin of mockery.

Turns to greet my face.

Treacherous.

Despair.

Running rampant with evil.

Foul giant.

Destroying this place.

The people and I gather.

Realization of our mistake.

Of my mistake.

The responsibility that has engulfed me.

My hand forced to lead.

In unison, we capture and trap your body.

The people prepare and ready you for execution.

As representative of the people.

The responsibility that has engulfed me.

I speak with you

How could you do this?!

Why would you do this?!

Our laughter, our dark humor was harmonious.

Can’t you see we are intertwined?

How could you do this?

To deceive the people that adored you.

To do this to me.

I loved you.

No, I still love you.

The head of a skeletal being.

Displaying remorse.

The other gods and the people have forgiven you.

The head of a man.

Displaying grief.

The people set you free and once again worship you.

Praising your name in unison.

Death God made Man Flesh.

Worshiped by all.

Loved by all.

You loved them all.

Death God made Man Flesh.

Adoration for me.

Smitten in your eyes.

Worship of my Woman Flesh.

My Woman Heart.

My Woman Spirit.

I show you a time.

Underneath the Moon in my youth.

Offer and sacrifice of my blood.

Smoke from my lips.

Blood from my wrists.

My head is laid on Moonstone.

My body covered by a Jade coffin.

Yet here I am in my Woman Flesh.

You tell me.

I remember that night.

I was there, watching you.

And even then, I loved you.

Death God made Man Flesh.

Adoration for me.

I offer my submission to you.

Worship of my Woman Flesh.

Bite of my teeth.

Breath from my lips.

Warmth of my tongue.

You encompass me.

But sadly…

Our story comes to an end.

My Woman Flesh made to sacrifice.

The people offering my body to honor you.

Inspired by jealousy.

The people, your subjects.

Felt deserving and righteous of your love.

Woman Flesh adorned by jewels and feathers.

Accompanied with a willing man.

Thrown to the pit.

To meet the people’s need for adoration from you.

And only death meets her there.

The sound of a horrified cry.

The deafening sound of grief.

The skies turning blackest of nights.

The stench of fear.

Fulfilling their end.

Punishment for their poor taste.

Devastation

Monstrosity

Skeletal being.

Made of melting flesh.

Dripping with rot.

Running rampant with rage.

Treacherous.

Despair.

Foul giant.

Destroying this place.

The Death God.
